humble beginnings
It’s funny, when we first started out in Rohini Street back in 2014, we would never have imagined what we were about to embark on! We set out to create a home away from home where your wellbeing is sure to rise. ONE community, one BODY, where teachers and students alike share the vision of a humanity that relishes being joyful, awakened and alive. Before we knew it, our community had grown and it was time for us to find a new home – a bigger space where we could grow our community further and come together to make a positive difference in this world, for both others and ourselves.

My first impressions of the yoga studio I frequented in Hong Kong left a indelible and profound mark on me. The studio sang soul and community. Having been a long distance runner and working in the corporate world up until then, these are the 2 things I was seeking the most. The next couple of years changed the course of my life forever with the yoga mat becoming grist to the mill of my awakening journey and the fulcrum in which I expanded into the heart of my lived experiences.
With over twelve years teaching experience I have a myriad of qualifications in different styles of Yoga, from Anusara to Vinyasa Flow. I have also expanded my understanding and knowledge of human movement and physiology through studying Anatomy, Pilates and Pilates Reformer

My yoga journey began 9 years ago when I attended a Bikram Yoga class. After practicing yoga I began to notice changes within myself. The more I practiced the more noticeable these changes became. Yoga transformed my life on many different levels, from physical, emotional, mental to spiritual. These changes are what made me fall in love with yoga.
I am extremely passionate about yoga and I want to help people experience the changes I experienced. This is what inspired me to become a yoga teacher. I completed a diploma in yoga teacher training at Victorian Institute of Yoga, in Hatha yoga. I then started exploring and practicing different styles of yoga like, Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. I believe that yoga is far more deeper than just physical movement. I truly believe that with commitment and continuous practice of yoga, a person may start to experience good health, inner peace and happiness.
Furthermore these qualities have transpired into my daily life through my eating and sleeping habits, to daily meditation practices. Realising that meditation is medicine for the mind, I decided to attend a 10 day Vipasana meditation course, to balance my physical yoga practice with my mental yoga practice.
I am currently studying a naturopath course to become more knowledgeable in how food nourishes the body and learn how the body can heal its self naturally, by empowering an individual to achieve their highest possible level of health.

I was first introduced to the benefits of body movement and Yoga in my late teens through dance classes, though did not strongly invest myself in it until 2008; it was when I desperately needed ‘something’ to balance the pace and intensity of my corporate life as a head-hunter. Keen to share my passion for yoga with others, I completed my 200-hour Teacher Training and Backcare Therapy Certification with Dr Venky Shivshakti Yoga in Singapore, Yoga Therapy Certification with Yoga Vidya Gurukul in India and Pre/Post-Natal Certification with Bliss Baby, Australia.
Born and raised in Singapore, I have been teaching since 2014 and my style of yoga is a blend of postural alignment, extended hold of poses and fun, flowing transitions. My classes are light-hearted with realistic approach, so expect to move with chuckles through the many Chaturangas I’ll put you through! Through the process of having my son, my desire to apply Yoga for women going through pregnancy strengthened and is now one focus I have in practice and teaching. I believe the path of Yoga is fun and exploratory, where a thrill and pleasure is experienced when your purpose is reached in practice! Ultimately, the aim of yoga should make you happy and healthy – on and off the mat!

When I first turned to yoga back in 2015 as a way to manage the stress that came from being a perfectionist working full time in the marketing world, I would have never imagined the journey I would be taken on. I quickly fell in love with the teachings of yoga, and witnessed the magic that arose, both on and off the mat.Â
After completing my first teacher training in 2019, I said goodbye to the corporate world and began my journey of sharing this transformative practice with others. With training and experience in teaching Vinyasa, Prenatal and Postnatal yoga methods and a passion for women’s health & wellness, my style of teaching is deeply rooted in the Shakti prana or Divine Feminine energy that resides in each and every one of us – inviting creativity and fluidity and creating space to nurture, nourish, rest and restore.Â

It was a friend who first convinced me to try a yoga class many years ago. I initially loved that yoga challenged me with the intensity of other training systems. Over time and with practice, I started to understand what it was all about! In 2013, I completed my teacher training and knew that I just wanted to teach and share my love of yoga with others.
Since completing my training I have taught throughout northern Sydney in various gyms and started my own community Yoga group in Wahroonga and of course KULA BODY in Turramurra.

Yoga came into my life after a deep need to reconnect and recenter after working tirelessly overseas in the corporate world. I was hooked from the moment I first stepped onto a mat and after many years of practice, wanting to learn more and be able to share this gift with others, I completed my teacher training in Rishikesh, India.Â
I personally practice yoga to create a connection between mind, body and breath and my mission as a teacher is to share those benefits with others. Through my classes I strive to provide a strong and challenging practice, one that allows students to not only connect within themselves but to also inspire and support each other to be better.Â
